
Elaine Hewlett has taught hundreds of people to dance in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and around the country. She is able to make even the most challenged of students feel comfortable and at ease. The clarity of her teaching has made her one of the most saught after dance instructers in DFW.
Elaine has been a consultant for the Dallas/Fort Worth Ballet's production Rite of Swing. She choreographed and preformed in Plano Repertory Theater's 2004 production of the musical Swing! and Contemporary Dallas Ballet's 2006 Boogie Woogie Christmas. Other choreography credits include Kitchen Dog Theater's 2003 production of Heaven and numerous corporate events and public performances. She has performed at the Meyerson with the Dallas Symphony, on Good Morning Texas, and in several NHK Japanese commercials.
Elaine began teaching ballroom dance in 1994 after training with the American Ballroom Studio in New Orleans and Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Atlanta. Additionally, Elaine has taught at workshops around the country including the St. Louis Tap Festival, American Lindy Hop Championship, Oakland Swing Festival, Swing Out New Hampshire, New England Swing Dance Championship, Great Southwest Lindy Fest and Austin Swing Riot. She has also had the honor of assisting Swing legends Norma Miller and Frankie Manning teach.
